My Summer Casual Chic Capsule Wardrobe
Over the past 3 months, I’ve been asked many times: ‘What are you wearing during the lockdown?’
In a word: my favourite neutral linen jacket!
With the relaxing of the lockdown rules, you might not be in the office full time and I might not be zipping around European cities quite so often, but I still like to look pulled together and oozing an effortless casual chic style.
And a neutral linen jacket pulls all my outfits together.
It’s the finishing touch to take you from Casual to Chic and Casual to Business Relaxed, even Business Smart if the weather plays ball.
I’d call my personal style: European Chic as I buy from Europe including Scandinavia as much as from the UK.
And contrary to what many people think, my wardrobe is small. Truly.
Yes I believe in the merits of a capsule wardrobe.
No capsule wardrobe is finished unless it includes a blazer or jacket.
And in Summer a linen or linen mix blazer is the perfect answer – adding a touch of smartness by day and a touch of sophisticated warmth by night.
My 9-piece Summer Casual Chic Capsule Wardrobe
The single key piece holding it all together is: the linen jacket.
The one I’m wearing this Summer is by Jaeger.
And I combine it with everything.
CWC style tip: the trick with linen is to wear it nonchalantly.
Wear it open with the sleeves pushed up, like you’ve just slipped it on.
MY stylish capsule wardrobe includes a pair of stone chino’s, two pairs of linen pants and a couple of airy midi boho dresses. My current favourite is in a refreshing peppermint green, from a Danish company.
With a preference for natural fibres, my clothes tends to be viscose, silk, cotton and linen.
