4 Days Of Dressing Up Delight With This Festive Capsule Wardrobe
With some 4 days of celebrations coming up, I’ve put together an easy elegant festive capsule wardrobe to make dressing for Christmas simple.
We may have to curb our Christmas festivities again this year due to the other C-word but let’s celebrate a smaller festive season when we can be among close family or friends.
Some families like to wear their PJ’s all day. Others love to dress up.
However, I’ve noticed many more of us are making up for lost time by dressing more lavishly than ever. So let’s make the most of it whilst we can!
This 4-day festive capsule wardrobe is aimed for city dwellers and those who love to dress up to take you through the 3 main days of Christmas from a Christmas Eve outing to the special day itself and a Boxing Day brunch. Then I’ve added New Year’s Eve.
There are CWC style tips as to how to expand this festive capsule wardrobe into the rest of Winter and other celebrations.
4-day Festive Capsule Wardrobe
The core capsule consists of 5 pieces plus accessories.
The colour scheme is a Winter taupe complemented with burgundy and a splash of silver.
Christmas Eve
Welcome the start of festivities with this burgundy leather skirt, khaki velvet tank top and topaz shoes and bag.
Mixing fabrics such as leather and velvet is not only a gorgeous Winter combination but the velvet adds a celebratory feel to festive dressing.
Top it all off with a gorgeous shearling coat so you’ll stay warm in the harshest of weathers.
This coat is reversible too so you can transform your looks anytime and particularly over the festive period.
Berry red leather skirt
Khaki velvet top
Taupe shearling coat
Topaz velvet shoes
Shoulder bag
Christmas Day
If you’re going all out in the style stakes, then you’ll win with this must-have burgundy velvet midi.
The understated look might be enough for you.
Less is more in my book.
Knee high boots also look good with a midi – whether it’s dress up or dress down.
Having said that, all things that glitter, shine, gleam or twinkle are allowed at Christmas.
If you want to be as sparkling as the tree, then go all out with look-at-me drop earrings.
CWC style tip: for head to toe sparkle, add a glitzy bag and shoes.

Silver & pearl earrings
Crystal drop earrings
Metallic micro shoulder bag
Oyster velvet heels
Knee high burgundy boots
Boxing Day
Whether it’s a city walk or brunch, it’s time for a cosy sweater.
Snuggle into this cashmere sweater and wrap a silk scarf around your neck.

New Year’s Eve
Using the core wardrobe and a tone-in-tone look, you’re dressed for festivities.
CWC style tip: this dress is perfect for Christmas Day too and any other festive occasion. Don’t keep it just for a New Year’s Eve dress!
Again having said the above, this ‘neutral’ dress lends itself perfectly to additional colours.
I’ve chosen green to celebrate the new year.
And especially because green represents renewal and growth.
With the elegant capelet, this look will take you to more celebrations throughout the year ahead.

Sheepskin capelet
Green suede occasion shoes
Huge earrings with green onyx
