7-Pieces To Create A Simple Summer Style Capsule Wardrobe
Nothing says Summer style more quickly than a mix of sea colours emphasised with white and sailor blue.
And with a more relaxed workwear wardrobe this Summer, you’ll find these pieces quickly morph from the odd day in the office to WFH (working from home) and just relaxing at home – inside or out.
How To Create Different Looks
From shipshape to more laid-back, it’s the way you put the pieces together that denotes an occasion, work or leisure.
The dress
A cool breezy silk dress is the choice for high Summer.
The one I’ve chosen here is an Occasion dress from LK Bennett although I’d wear it for any outdoor event.
For a more relaxed look and when the Summer evenings can turn cool, pop over a simple cotton blend poncho.
Dress it up with wearable but elegant patent heels or wear it casual chic with a pair of slingbacks and even a pair of pink trainers.
Similarly keep your bag smart enough for work with its matching strap but then swop it for a striped or print strap
for a hang-loose on the beach feel.
A choice of bag straps from Luxe Designers and pink Veja’s at The White Company.
The White Pant
If you follow my Instagram account, you’ll see I’m often wearing white cotton jeans, white linen pants or stone chino’s when it comes to Summer trousers.
White pants are fine in a work environment but keep them smart with a blouse and proper shoes.
Depending on your workplace, you can add a jacket and I’d choose a complimentary colour.
I’ve chosen cool lyocell and linen blend pants from Gerard Darel here and teamed them with
a mint viscose blouse from Paul Smith. The leaf print linen top is from Gerry Weber.
And for that coastal feel, I’ve chosen a white and khaki striped tee from Baukjen.

The Blue Pant
Blue is a trans-seasonal colour and for Summer I’d choose a cobalt blue pair like these stretch linen and cotton ones from Joseph.
