From looking ahead to 2015 and the new Spring/Summer collections to turning around Christmas outfits, it’s been all go. And that’s
exactly how we like it so a big thank you for your interest.
It’s always lovely to look at Summer clothes in November. It’s both a teaser and a reminder that Spring will be back.
Two of the key changes I noticed are: shapes to compliment every body type and more choice in hem lengths.
There’s going to be a lot of midi dresses and skirts; feminine without being too revealing and perfect for those
of you who worry about going bare-legged. Now you can!
We’ll be showing some early CWC style edits in our Trending column after Christmas.
For now, here are a few pointers:
Overall trend: retro femininity meets shiny futuristic tomorrow.
Colours: from sporty whites to dusky pinks and all the blues plus navy and black monochrome.
Red features in softer hues to flatter us all. And yellow is making an impact. It can be difficult to pull off
but worn as one colour in a multi-print, or as an accessory, and you’re working that trend perfectly.
Shapes: from ’50’s skirts and shirt dresses to wide-leg pants and edgier futuristic styles in asymmetric cuts.
Fabrics: from denim to sheer, and from silk to the more technical fabrics including those that don’t crease.
To bring you back to reality, it’s getting cold enough for warm coats and lined trenches. Try not to overload
the pockets with car keys and other bits and pieces. Pockets will drop sooner than you think and ruin the polish
of your outerwear. Coats are often an investment purchase and if you’d like help in choosing yours, or would
like to discuss your own capsule wardrobe, just get in touch.
